The Summer Duo

The Summer Duo

Two fruit blends for the long days. One crimson and tart, one soft and sun-drenched. Neither one will keep you up.

Socotra brings hibiscus, rosehip, and dark berry, named for the island tree that bleeds red. Watermelon Iced Chai goes light and juicy, real watermelon and honeydew, the kind of cup that tastes like a cold drink even when it's warm.

Brew either one over ice. Caffeine-free, both of them, so the last cup of the day is as easy as the first.

Summer, two ways.

"Two ways to drink the sun."

About This Blend

Two caffeine-free fruit teas, built for the same season from opposite directions.

Socotra takes its name from an island in the Arabian Sea where the Dragon Blood Tree grows in a shape that looks borrowed from another planet: a flat umbrella canopy above a thick trunk that bleeds dark crimson resin when cut. Revered for centuries for its protective properties, it gave us a blend with the same spirit. Whole cranberries, hibiscus petals, elderberries, and rosehips over a smooth rooibos base. Tart, deeply berry-rich, and loaded with the antioxidants and vitamin C that make it one of the most wellness-forward blends we make.

Watermelon works the other way. Some teas make you feel healthy. This one makes you feel happy. Watermelon and honeydew, two of summer's most joyful flavors, kept light and sweet and balanced by soft apple and carrot. No added sweetener, because it doesn't need any. No performance claims, no ancient tradition, just a genuinely delicious cup.

One crimson and bracing, one soft and sun-drenched. Both naturally caffeine-free, both good hot or iced, both worth reaching for at any hour of the day.

Ingredients

Socotra Dragon Chai: Organic hibiscus, organic rosehips, organic rooibos, natural flavor, organic dried blueberries, organic dried elderberries, organic dried cranberries

Watermelon Iced Chai: Apple, carrot, honeydew melon (melon, sugar, fructose syrup), watermelon, artificial flavoring, beetroot

How To Brew

Both blends are caffeine-free and forgiving. Here's how to get the most from each.

Socotra Dragon Chai - Brew double strength, 2 heaping teaspoons or 2 sachets in 8 oz of boiling water, and steep 7 minutes. Cool, then pour over ice. Add a fresh orange slice: the citrus amplifies the hibiscus and makes it one of the most refreshing iced teas of the summer.

Watermelon Iced Chai - Heat water to 203 to 212°F. Steep 1 sachet 10 to 12 minutes for a strong brew, then pour directly over ice and let it chill. The flavors open up beautifully cold.

Brewing both at once

Make a pitcher of each in the morning and you have the full range covered for the day: Socotra when you want something bracing and bold, Watermelon when you want something soft. Both steep longer than black tea without turning bitter, so a forgotten pitcher is still a good pitcher. Neither has caffeine, so evening is fair game.

Tasting Notes

Two caffeine-free fruit teas that run in opposite directions. Here's what each cup does.

Socotra: bold and crimson

First sip: Tart hibiscus hits immediately. Vivid and crimson, like drinking a ripe berry.
Mid-palate: Cranberry and elderberry deepen the fruit profile. Rich, layered, satisfying.
The sweetness: Blueberry brings a natural sweetness that balances the tartness perfectly. No sugar needed.
The finish: Rooibos smooths everything out. Warm, earthy, and gentle.

Watermelon: light and sun-drenched

First sip: Immediate watermelon sweetness. Bright, clean, instantly refreshing.
Mid-palate: Honeydew adds a softer, creamier layer. Like biting into a perfectly ripe melon.
The body: Apple rounds everything out. Light, familiar sweetness with a gentle natural body.
The finish: Clean and light. Fades like a perfect summer afternoon and makes you want another sip.

Drinking them together

Start with Socotra when you want the cup to wake up your palate, tart and berry-forward with an earthy rooibos landing. Reach for Watermelon when you want the opposite: soft, sweet, and easy, no edges anywhere. Both brew beautifully over ice and hold their flavor as the cubes melt. Neither has caffeine, so the order you drink them in is entirely up to the hour.

How Should I Store My Tea

Keep your tea in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight and moisture. Avoid storing near the stove or in humid spaces. Stored properly, your tea will stay fresh and aromatic for up to 24 months.

For matcha, we recommend using within 1 month of opening for peak freshness and color.
